Will Lodge – Suzy Whaley Golf's PGA Jr League Journey (2016)

Will Lodge - Suzy Whaley Golf'
Junior golfer Will was invited to join Suzy Whaley Golf's PGA Junior League team. It was an amazing experience, culminating in 2 hours of TV coverage on Golf Channel!!!

The team was a coed, 10-person, 13&Under team. For matches, the team divides up into 4 groups of 2 or 3 to play in a scramble, 9-hole, match-play format. 36,000+ kids from across the country participated.

Will's team competed against numerous CT teams, achieving an undefeated record. They then advanced to Regionals (9/17-9/18), which were held in Cape Cod, MA, with another undefeated record of 3-0 against NY, MA, and NH. At Nationals (11/19-11/21), which were held at the famed Grayhawk GC in Scottsdale, AZ, they were joined by seven other teams, which were divided into two divisions:

Wannamaker Division: CA, CT, NJ, IL
Ryder Division: GA, OH, TX, AL

Teams compete within their Division first and then compete against a corresponding team in the other Division on the final day. Will's CT team finished with a 2-1-1 record, only losing to the ultimate winner CA. (Will also had a 2-1-1 record)
