David Duval's Fist Pump Display @ 1999 Ryder Cup

David Duval'
This Video has been absent from YouTube for too long. The Audio is no good, but it doesn't matter. Sit back and enjoy this 'work of art'. Keep the number 19 fresh in your head

    The Setup:

David Duval may be one of the most stonefaced golfers of his time (Next to Retief Goosen). The 1999 Ryder Cup changed the media's perception of Mr. Duval for ever. In 1999 Duval was still considered a golfer. One of the best If I may (This is no longer true in 2009). The United States team was down big going into Sunday's singles matches. The U.S. was tooling all over Europe on Sunday, however, and Duval's Tooling may have been the largest and most entertaining. He beat Jesper Parnevik 5 & 4 and no one was expecting what happened next..... David Duval proceeded to make 19 consecutive fist pumps....A record I'm sure no athlete has ever accomplished before him and may never accomplish after him.

    1. This is why I love Duval. I celebrate like this on the course every time I sink a putt for par or bogie. He's a dick but I love it!

    2. @batface76 you too are almost correct. if olazabel had taken the point from leonard, the cup would at that point have been 14-13 USA. The cup would then have come down to the Stewart-Motgomerie match, which was conceded by Stewart only because the Americans had already won the cup. If Stewart had halved his match with Montgomerie, the Americans would have won the cup

    3. " In 1999 Duval was still considered a golfer. One of the best If I may (This is no longer true in 2009)."

check that. turn on the TV lately? Tied for third in the US Open after three rounds. Go DD!

    4. Whats the story behind the USA team celebration at this event? Like Ive heard that we over-celebrated the victory. What happened exactly? It was before my time. Thanks
